Business Documents – Part 4 (Customize Word Template)

Business Documents is a standard tool in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365FO) that enables the visualization of documents and reports, with Electronic Reporting serving as the primary engine for data extraction. In my previous videos—Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3—I offered a brief overview of Configurable Business Documents (CBD), their core functions, and how to customize a Business Document in an Excel template.

In this video, I’ll demonstrate how to customize a standard business document in Word format. This includes adding and removing fields, mapping newly added fields in Electronic Reporting, and embedding fonts in the template. This tutorial will provide you with insights on how to update a standard Word template to include the required layout, fields (such as labels and values), and fonts.
